Comparing the 2025 Nissan Murano vs Chevy Blazer

Within the auto industry, a great midsize SUV is something special: a vehicle that provides the functionality you want from an SUV with a spacious interior that gives you plenty of room to utilize but an overall size that is not too big. We view midsize SUVs as that “just right” spot between compact models that can be too small to meet your needs and full-size options that might threaten to take over your garage. Finding the right midsize model is not always easy, but we find it becomes a lot simpler if you focus on one or two models at a time to see what they offer. Exploring the 2025 Nissan Murano vs 2025 Chevy Blazer, for example, reveals that while the Blazer is a fine SUV by all accounts, it cannot compete with what Nissan offers.
You get a powerful standard engine with the Murano that delivers 241 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque; by comparison, the 228 hp standard engine of the Blazer falls short. That is only the beginning with these two vehicles, however, and the experience that the Murano provides goes beyond its impressive performance and great fuel efficiency. Looking inside, for example, the Nissan Murano gives you more room to load up with stuff you need to take with you and incredible comfort features to enjoy. Every Murano features heated front seating, with available ventilated quilted leather seating with massage functionality; the seating in the Chevy Blazer just cannot compete.
What’s more, if you are looking for great tech features inside your vehicle, then Nissan has you covered in a way few other midsize SUVs can match. You get a pair of standard 12.3-inch displays inside the Murano, with available features that include a 10-speaker Bose sound system and head-up display. Inside the Chevy Blazer we find a standard 10.2-inch infotainment screen and a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center display that is underwhelming by comparison. Best of all, Nissan gives you incredible standard safety technology, like Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, to protect you on the road. Chevy has some good standard safety technology like Automatic Emergency Braking, but things like Side Blind Zone Alert are not standard.

Advanced Driver Assistance

Although there are a lot of different features we like to look at when considering a vehicle, the most important thing to us is how well it protects you and your loved ones. Nothing else really matters if your vehicle does not help keep you safe on the road each day. Fortunately, both the Nissan Murano and the Chevy Blazer give you an impressive array of standard safety technology and driver-assistance systems. Nissan simply gives you more to complement your safe driving habits and protect you on the road.
Every 2025 Nissan Murano includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Rear Automatic Braking. Not only that, but you also get High Beam Assist to avoid blinding drivers in oncoming traffic, Traffic Sign Recognition to help you keep an eye on road signs, and Intelligent Lane Intervention to help keep you in your lane. Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention is standard to warn you if someone is in your blind spot and help you avoid merging into them. Features that you get on trims other than the starting SV include ProPILOT Assist 1.1, which gives you Intelligent Cruise Control with traffic stop-go, and a 360-degree Surround View Camera for enhanced visibility around your vehicle.
The 2025 Chevy Blazer comes with Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and IntelliBeam automatic high beams. Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Following Distance Indicator are also standard. Unfortunately, driver-assistance technology like Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert are not standard but only available as part of a Driver Confidence Package. While it is good that Chevy makes these kinds of features available, Nissan includes them as standard on every trim, which we definitely prefer. Adaptive Cruise Control and an HD Surround Vision system are also available for the Blazer but they are not included standard even on the highest Premier trim, which is a shame.
Interior Space and Comfort

One of the keys to finding the perfect vehicle is looking carefully at the interiors of different models to ensure you get everything you want. A great midsize SUV will give you a spacious interior that is comfortable for your passengers and has plenty of room to bring everything you need along with you. In terms of cargo space, the Nissan Murano gives you 32.9 cu.ft. of volume at the rear, while the Blazer has just 30.5 cu.ft. of cargo room behind the back seats. That might not seem like a massive difference, but remember that a piece of carry-on luggage is only around 1.6 cu.ft., so that can really matter when you are trying to load up with everything you need.
Looking inside these two SUVs, you get the kinds of features you expect from the modern auto industry, but Nissan simply gives you more. The 2025 Chevy Blazer 2LT (its starting trim) offers standard cloth seating with an eight-way power driver’s seat but just a four-way manual front-passenger seat—although heated front seats are standard, which is nice. Still, it is a shame that the front passenger does not get more comfortable seating. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard, which is good, and available features in the highest Premier trim include a six-way front-passenger seat, perforated leather-appointed seating, and a heated steering wheel.
With the 2025 Nissan Murano, you get fantastic comfort features even in the starting SV trim, including an eight-way power driver’s seat and heated leatherette front seats. If you go up to the Platinum trim, then comfort goes to another level with quilted semi-aniline leather seating, including heated front and rear seats. You get ventilated front seats in the Platinum trim, plus massage functionality up front to take things even further, along with a heated steering wheel and much more. The result is an incredibly comfortable cabin that you will look forward to getting into before you hit the road each day.
Innovative Tech Features

Just as important as your comfort is how much fun it is to drive your vehicle since this can impact every moment you spend on the road. Innovative technology is leading the auto industry these days, creating vehicles that are far more connected and impressive than ever before. Large interior displays can seem like luxury items only to be found in vehicles that approach six figures, but you should expect these kinds of features in any great car, truck, or SUV. Nissan understands that, and the 2025 Murano is a technological wonder, with fantastic features throughout the interior to enhance your drive.
For starters, you have a pair of 12.3-inch displays up front in the Murano: one for the instrument cluster that you can configure and change to meet your needs and a second one for the NissanConnect infotainment system. Both of these screens look stunning and make it easy to use a variety of apps and other systems; plus, you get a standard six-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and even a wireless charging pad included. Available features enhance tech even further with a 10-speaker Bose Premium sound system, Google built-in with voice activation, a head-up display, and more.
Looking at the 2025 Chevy Blazer, its tech features are fine but not nearly as impressive as what Nissan gives you—even its available options still fall short. Every Blazer comes with a 10.2-inch infotainment display that is fine but certainly not remarkable; the standard 4.2-inch Driver Information Center is definitely lacking compared to what we see in the Murano. Looking at the Premier trim for the Blazer’s best features, we find a larger eight-inch Driver Information Center (which is still lacking), an eight-speaker sound system, and a wireless charging pad like Nissan provides as standard. Altogether, these tech features are decent, but you can see that they ultimately fall behind what Nissan provides with the Murano.

Nissan Gives You More With the Murano
We would never say the Chevy Blazer is a poor choice for a midsize SUV; it has plenty to offer, and Chevy is well known for making fine vehicles. Nissan simply gives you more with the Murano, not only as standard but even as you look at higher trims for both models and the available features they provide. You get superior technology inside the Murano combined with stunningly comfortable seating and a number of other fantastic features designed to enhance every moment you spend on the road. Once you add in the safety technology Nissan provides to help protect you on the road, it is easy to see why so many people choose the Murano.
