This is because every 2025 Frontier features the same V6 engine, regardless of which trim you buy.
With the V6 engine under the hood, the 2025 Frontier produces 310 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. Driving the Frontier is exhilarating because of its performance, and towing with the truck is an enjoyable experience for its class. For the price of the Frontier, the base-level performance is excellent as it crosses the 300 hp threshold. The 2025 Frontier receives a towing capacity improvement over its predecessor, with the ability to haul 7,150 lbs of cargo.
Rear-wheel drive is standard for the 2025 Frontier, meaning that handling the truck feels exceptional on regular roads, and fuel efficiency holds up well too. However, four-wheel drive is available for greater traction. If you want to use it to venture off the beaten path, the PRO-4X is the Frontier's dedicated off-road trim. The four-wheel drive system for the 2025 Frontier includes a switch-operated two-speed transfer case, which complements the other off-roading features found on the PRO-4X, like an electronic locking rear differential, shocks designed for off-roading, large all-terrain tires to tackle rugged ground, and more.

With the SV trim and upward, the driver seat becomes power-adjustable with two-way power lumbar support and is made of either premium cloth or leather, depending on the trim. A four-way power-adjustable front-passenger seat is added for the SL, PRO-X, and PRO-4X. Although the S doesn’t support heated driver and passenger seats, this feature is available on the SV trim and is standard on the SL. Leather seats are also standard on the SL.
Another feature that we’re glad to see is standard on every trim is the tilt and telescoping steering wheel. Traditionally, steering wheels are adjusted up or down to suit your height, but adjustments beyond that were nonexistent. With the tilt and telescoping steering wheel, you can bring the wheel closer by pulling it forward or push it in to create more distance between yourself and the wheel. It’s a feature you may find yourself using more often than you realize, especially if you’re the type to readjust your sitting position during long drives.
The 2025 Frontier exceeds expectations with its cargo space, providing some of the best results in its class. The two bed lengths for the 2025 Frontier measure five feet and six feet, with the latter being class-leading as no other 2025 midsize truck has a longer bed. Even the regular bed is impressive, with 40.1 cu.ft. of available cargo space, reduced to 39.6 cu.ft. with the optional spray-in bedliner applied. The long bed isn’t only class-leading in length but also in capacity, with a cargo volume of 49.6 cu.ft. or 49.2 cu.ft. with the spray-in bedliner. An extra storage container is accessible beneath the second-row seats, which is perfect for smaller belongings you don’t want to leave in the bed.
Tech is the cornerstone of what makes a truck feel modern, and the 2025 Frontier is one of the best examples. It has a host of connectivity, safety, entertainment, and utility features nestled into one well-built truck by a manufacturer that isn’t afraid of the future but readily embraces it, pursues it, and even helps create it. The base 2025 Frontier comes standard with an eight-inch infotainment center with plenty of worthwhile tech, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and NissanConnect, which includes a built-in hotspot for private and fast internet belonging to your truck wherever you go.
New for the 2025 model year is an available 12.3-inch infotainment center. This is the largest screen Nissan has put in a Frontier. The new infotainment center’s screen is uniquely designed as it’s wider than tall. A panel of physical media buttons is present for audio, map, and camera control, along with a dedicated home menu button—many drivers prefer the feedback that real buttons and knobs provide, and Nissan has heard those drivers loud and clear. With the 12.3-inch infotainment center, your Frontier is also upgraded to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The available wireless phone charging pad is a great addition if you want a truly wireless interior.
Every 2025 Frontier trim comes standard with a seven-inch multi-function information display. This screen is nestled between your tachometer and your speedometer and displays information in a modern manner. Traffic Sign Recognition—one of Nissan’s safety features—uses this screen to display its readings and shows you the speed limit or upcoming exit signs. The seven-inch screen gives digital readings for your odometer, trip odometer, voltmeter, oil pressure, and clock. It’s a clever way to display more information at once in a cleaner fashion that disappears when the vehicle is turned off, leaving nothing but the analog gauges. The gauges that remain analog include the speedometer, fuel level, tachometer, and coolant temp.
Safety features in the 2025 Frontier are some of the most notable technologies on display. Nissan doesn’t consider high-end driver-assist features a luxury, which is great because every 2025 Frontier comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360. The safety suite is famous for bringing incredible technology to the forefront of Nissan’s lineup, including features like Intelligent Forward Collision Warning to signal an alert if you’re approaching another vehicle too fast and High Beam Assist to turn your high beams on and off for you automatically. Another highly useful feature is Lane Departure Warning, which, as the name implies, is designed to issue an alert if you’re departing your lane unknowingly.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is an incredible benefit of the 2025 Frontier because it includes features that other manufacturers have been known to offer but do not normally provide standard with every trim.
