As more and more automotive brands focus on reducing emissions, the options for hybrid and electric vehicles are increasing. Nissan has carved a path to introduce 19 new electric vehicles by 2030. Of course, the brand has already made a name for itself in this category, thanks to the debut of the Nissan LEAF in 2011. When the LEAF was introduced to the world, it became the first mass-market electric vehicle. While it was only initially available in the United States, Europe, and Japan, the LEAF is now available in 59 markets, with more than 650,000 sales since its debut.

You might wonder what the 2025 Nissan LEAF has going for it that has helped it last for 15 years in a predominantly gas-powered market. The truth is that Nissan’s dedication to safety, technology, and functionality has helped the LEAF remain at the top of its class. Our team here at Illini Nissan is proud to stand behind the Nissan name and everything the LEAF promises the everyday driver. From a roomy interior to its reasonable price point—making it one of the most affordable EVs on the market—there is a lot to love about this electric vehicle, including its available range of up to 212 miles.

You can find the 2025 Nissan LEAF in two trim levels: the S and SV Plus. Both offer a number of driver assist features, advanced technology, and flexibility, allowing you to experience the convenience of an all-electric vehicle while still enjoying features that make driving engaging, whether you’re headed to work or having a weekend of fun with your friends. Additionally, you’ll enjoy the smaller frame and wheelbase, making it a great choice for navigating busy highways, tight parking lots, and everything in between. Stop in today to see the Nissan LEAF up close and learn more about how it meets your driving needs.

    Driving Range

In today’s fast-paced world, you need a vehicle that can keep up with your day-to-day demands, which means you need your vehicle of choice to be ready to go when you are. The 2025 Nissan LEAF answers the call, making it the perfect solution for commuters, college students, new drivers, and everyone in between.

First, we’ll explore the driving range. You’ll find that you can enjoy an estimated 212 uninterrupted miles when choosing the SV Plus trim. When opting for the S trim level, you can drive an estimated 149 miles without needing to stop and charge. The difference is in the battery. For the S trim level, a 40 kWh battery is included, while the SV Plus trim has a 60 kWh battery.

For charging, you can easily get your LEAF ready for the next day by leaving it plugged in at home overnight or taking advantage of one of many public charging stations across the nation. The 2025 Nissan LEAF comes with a 6.6 kW onboard charger and a Quick Charge port to accommodate a variety of charging options. If you’re using the 50 kW Quick Charge port, the S trim level can be charged up to 80% in 40 minutes. The SV trim can reach 80% power in 60 minutes.

    Instant Torque

Beyond being able to bypass the gas station, you’ll love the instant torque the Nissan LEAF offers. This is because electric vehicles don’t have any gears or pistons to move, which means you get instant power from the start. Plus, the e-Pedal handles both accelerating and slowing down for you. Simply press down for acceleration and let up to decelerate. Of course, you also have the brake pedal when needed.

Last but not least, the Nissan LEAF lets you boost your driving range by converting braking energy into electrical energy for your battery. You might have heard this called regenerative braking, which takes the kinetic energy normally lost as heat when the car slows down or comes to a stop and converts it into electricity that is stored in the battery.

  • Functionality

    Comfort and Convenience

Today’s fast-paced world also calls for functionality. Not only do you need your vehicle to be ready to go when you are, but you also need it to assist you in getting your to-do list done. Whether you need to drop your child off at school and then head to the grocery store to load up on food for the month, or you and your friends want to enjoy a weekend away, you’ll find the LEAF helps you reach your goals. You’ll find plenty of room in the cargo area, adding to the LEAF’s functionality. With the rear seats folded down, you get up to 30 cu.ft. of space, allowing you to haul whatever you need, from your bicycle to landscaping materials to sporting equipment for the kids.

The 2025 Nissan LEAF has room for five and comfortable seating thanks to Nissan’s Zero Gravity front seats. These seats are designed to mimic the weightlessness that astronauts feel, giving you added support and cushions that flex to respond to pressure points. Additionally, the seats help reduce fatigue during the drive and improve your posture, so you arrive at your destination relaxed and refreshed. Comfort continues thanks to Automatic Temperature Control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

The Nissan LEAF also gives you everything you need to stay connected during the drive, allowing you to send emails when you’re parked waiting to pick up friends or letting you unwind with your favorite playlist as you head home after a long work week. Additionally, when choosing the SV Plus trim, you gain added functionality thanks to NissanConnect EV with Navigation. Simply say where you want to go, and the technology will help you get there. Last but not least, you and your passengers will enjoy four USB ports to keep your digital devices charged while you’re on the go.

  • Safety Features

    Safety Shield 360

Nissan has long been known for ensuring its vehicles are safe on the road, and the 2025 Nissan LEAF is no exception. Equipped with Nissan Safety Shield 360, you can enjoy a suite of six standard safety features to support you mile after mile. You’ll also find additional safety features when choosing the SV Plus trim, such as Intelligent Driver Alertness and Intelligent Around View Monitor. The standard safety features include the following:

Automatic Emergency Braking With Pedestrian Detection

This system provides you with an extra set of “eyes,” alerting you to pedestrians that enter your space and giving you the chance to avoid a collision. If the system senses you’re unable to stop in time, it applies the brakes for you to help prevent a crash or minimize the severity of the impact. This extra support brings you peace of mind on busy streets.

    Rear Automatic Braking

While the above-mentioned system scans the area in front of your LEAF, this system helps you out from behind, ensuring there is nothing in the path of your vehicle as you reverse. If it senses an obstacle that you don’t see, it can apply the brakes to avoid a collision or reduce any impact that may occur.

    Blind Spot Warning

This system is perfect when navigating highways, especially when there is a lot of traffic. It senses when another vehicle is in your blind spot, letting you know when it is and isn’t safe to change lanes.

    Rear Cross Traffic Alert

This system gives you the support you need to back out of your parking space or driveway with ease. It alerts you to vehicles crossing behind you from either direction so you can react accordingly.

    Lane Departure Warning

It happens to the best of us. You’re driving along, and suddenly, you’ve swayed too far from the center of your lane. Thankfully, with this system activated, you get a warning when you’re in danger of leaving your lane, along with a gentle nudge on the steering wheel to get you back on track.

    High Beam Assist

While this might not seem like a safety feature, the fact that you don’t need to fumble around to find the high beam switch is key when you’re in an unfamiliar area. Since this system automatically senses when you do—and don’t—need the high beams, you can sit back and let it do its thing, knowing you have the extra light when needed.
