A Daily Driver That's Actually Fun to Drive

Most compact SUVs focus on utility and fuel economy rather than a fun driving experience––not so with the 2023 Nissan Murano. Why shouldn’t your daily driver offer fun-to-drive ride handling and thrilling performance? Nissan crushes the mold with an SUV that delivers 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque via a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine. Choose from a front-wheel drive or Nissan Intelligent All-Wheel Drive version for a little extra confidence in wet, slippery conditions.

    Five Trims to Choose From

Nissan offers the 2023 Murano in five distinct trims, starting with the base S. All versions come in both front and all-wheel drive and offer the same powerful engine. The Murano S provides an affordable entry trim that’s still very well-equipped. It features 18-inch wheels and a push-button start. Dual-zone temperature control, cloth seats, and an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are also included.

Moving up to the Murano SV adds remote engine start with Nissan’s Intelligent Climate Control. This feature lets you start your car and preset the temperature before you slide behind the wheel, taking the chill out of those dark winter mornings. An auto-dimming rearview mirror is also included, along with heated front seats, a ten-way power driver’s seat with lumbar, and a four-way power passenger’s seat. Seating surfaces are leatherette for a premium look.

Moving up to the Murano Midnight Edition adds transformative exterior finishes, including 20-inch black aluminum wheels, heated black power outside mirrors with embedded turn signal indicators, and a dramatic black grille. Black lower cladding on the front and rear bumper adds to the Midnight Edition’s more aggressive curb appeal, as do the black body molding and exterior Midnight Edition badging that’s unique to this trim.

At the upper end of the range sit the SL and Platinum trims. The SL includes leather seating, a 360-degree surround view camera that displays a bird’s eye view of the area around your SUV right on the infotainment screen, and ambient LED interior lighting with multiple colors and available adjustments. The Platinum includes a panoramic moonroof with a fixed rear glass panel, ventilated seats, and gorgeous Semi-aniline quilted leather seating.

  • Technology

Advanced Technology, Infotainment, and Innovative Features

Many compact SUVs skimp on infotainment features, especially at the low end of the trim range. Not Nissan, which offers the same large eight-inch infotainment touchscreen on all Murano trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity also comes standard, so you won’t miss a single text message while on the go. The hands-free text messaging feature lets you listen to incoming messages and respond verbally without ever taking your eyes off the road.

Upper-level Murano trims come with standard Door to Door Navigation with a traffic feature that shows you what’s ahead and guides you to the fastest route. NissanConnect Services, a series of app-based subscription services, are also offered, turning your smartphone into a remote key and information hub for key driver and vehicle data. Activate a subscription, and you can remote start your Murano, locate it when you forget where it’s parked, and even lock/unlock the doors.

If you demand the best sound quality for your infotainment, select a 2023 Nissan Murano with the available Bose premium audio system, which includes dual subwoofers and an 11-speaker sound distribution system. All five occupants have access to USB charging ports, including both USB-A (aux) and USB-C varieties. The infotainment system gets its responsiveness from the advanced NissanConnect system. Drivers will appreciate the crisp, straightforward display and easy smartphone integration capability.

  • Safety

    Nissan Safety Shield 360

The entire 2023 Murano lineup receives standard Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of driver-assist technologies that increase safety and convenience for all occupants. Nissan Safety Shield 360 includes six systems that rely on cameras, sensors, and radar to constantly monitor the area surrounding your vehicle, provide feedback, and perform emergency maneuvers to help you avoid a collision. The six systems include:

Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection

Despite new laws governing the use of cell phones while driving, many well-meaning operators still glance at their phones, even if only to change playlists. In a split second, that decision could prove fatal. Automatic Emergency Braking senses when a crash is imminent and intervenes to automatically apply the brakes to avoid or minimize the severity of a crash. At low speeds, it detects pedestrians coming into your lane of travel and brakes to avoid contact.

    Rear Automatic Braking

Rear Automatic Braking works at low speeds when your Murano is in reverse. As you back up, you don’t always notice hazards, so the system acts as a second set of eyes, stopping the vehicle when it senses something in your way. It’s a bumper-saver and a great way to navigate tight parking lots and garages.

    Blind Spot Warning

Blind Spot Warning works by constantly monitoring both sides of your vehicle for incoming traffic. If you turn on your signal and the system senses a car approaching, it alerts you to wait before switching lanes. Blind Spot Warning helps avoid unnecessary guesswork, especially on long highway drives.

    Rear Cross Traffic Alert

When was the last time you felt fully confident backing out of your driveway? Rear Cross Traffic Alert scans for traffic coming from either side of your vehicle, alerting you when a car is approaching so you don’t continue backing up.

    Lane Departure Warning

This system works by monitoring how well your vehicle is staying in its intended lane of traffic. Especially helpful on long highway drives, if you inadvertently drift toward the edge of your lane, Lane Departure Warning will alert you and send gentle steering nudges to get you centered again.

    High Beam Assist

Also known as automatic high beams, this system takes the drudgery out of night driving by automatically switching between low and high-beam settings. Once drivers switch the auto high beam setting on, the system detects oncoming traffic and switches to the low-beam setting. Once the vehicle has passed, it re-engages high beams to optimize night vision.
