Following a recent redesign, the 2022 Nissan Titan XD returns with its class-defining features, bold look, and performance-enriched powertrain for those who need a full-size truck with heavy-duty capabilities. The 2022 model year adds a couple of extra new features to the lineup of offerings in the form of improved trailering capabilities, with the Titan XD SV trim's SV Convenience Package and the PRO-4X trim's PRO-4X Convenience Package both coming standard with a gooseneck hitch. The perfect accessory needed for those planning on towing large hauls with their Titan XD.
The Titan XD is available in the 2022 model year in four different trim formats. The entry-level trim is the S, followed by the more feature-rich SV, the off-road capable PRO-4X, and finally, the luxury-themed Platinum Reserve. The Titan XD is also equipped with a V8 in a Crew Cab configuration, giving the full-size truck a lot of leeway in what sort of tasks it can be used for and how it can be configured for passengers.
The 2022 model year Titan XD is available in multiple colors as well, giving truck shoppers up to 12 different colors to choose from, which includes multiple two-tone color schemes as well. The eight base colors include Cardinal Red TriCoat, Red Alert, Baja Storm Pearl, Deep Blue Pearl, Super Black, Gun Metallic, Pearl White TriCoat, and Glacier White. The four two-tone colors include Cardinal Red TriCoat and Gun Metallic, Deep Blue Pearl and Gun Metallic, Super Black and Gun Metallic, as well as Pearl White TriCoat and Gun Metallic.
Boasting powerful standard powertrain capabilities within its segment, the 2022 Nissan Titan XD is propelled by a 5.6-liter dual-overhead-camshaft 32-valve V8 engine that outputs 400 horsepower at 413 pound-feet of torque. All Titan XD trims come standard in a four-wheel drive format for instant improved traction control, off-road capabilities, and stability management. This also means that every Titan XD starting with the S trim comes standard with a switch-operated 2-speed transfer case for the maximum amount of torque distribution through each of the four wheels using two ratio modes, including four-wheel drive high and low.
The engine is paired up with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and each of the Titan XD trims come standard with dynamic vehicle control, traction control, and hill start assist. For the PRO-4X trim, you also get hill descent control as a standard feature. Vented brakes with brake assist and active brake limited slip are also standard on each of the trims, meaning you have complete control over the Titan XD at all times while on the road, never feeling like the vehicle's stability is slipping out from under the steering wheel. This is also thanks to power-assisted electronic steering with available power tilt and telescoping.
The wheels also scale from 18-inches with styled steel up to 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with a dark chrome finish. All of the trims come standard with all-terrain tires. However, you get the extra benefit of Bilstein off-road performance shocks that are standard for the Titan XD PRO-4X. The pickup is designed to handle all your performance-related needs on the road required of a full-size while also being more than capable of dealing with all of the ins and outs of off-road recreational use or work-related tasks.
Part of the big selling point of the Nissan Titan XD is being able to carry on work that other trucks may not be capable of handling. With the Titan XD you're getting a full-size truck capable of impressive towing feats. Capable of towing a maximum of 11,060 pounds with a gooseneck hitch attached and properly equipped, you can get a lot done with the Titan XD. What's more impressive is that it's capable of that towing feat in four-wheel drive, which is not something a lot of light-duty trucks without proper equipment are capable of doing in that configuration.
The 2022 Nissan Titan XD also manages a payload capacity of up to 2,430 pounds in the rear bed. This allows you to carry more than a ton of cargo and then some, proving how utilitarian Nissan's full-size pickup is for heavy-duty, work-related tasks. Additionally, the Nissan Utili-Track bed system enables you to get additional security and stability out of the bed, thanks to the aluminum-alloy cleats that can be adjusted and slid along a five-channel system. Factory-sprayed bed liner also helps provide extra grip for whatever you carry in the bed, and the Utili-Track can also be modified and upgraded for nearly any task at hand, from bed extenders to high racks and even additional USB ports.
Inside, the Titan XD seats up to six people across two rows in a split-bench configuration of 40/20/40. Available 8-way power driver seats and 4-way power passenger front seats add a sense of comfort to the offerings, with available power-lumbar support for the driver. You can also increase those comfort levels with available heated and ventilated leather-appointed seating. If you want an added layer of luxury to explore for the interior of the Titan XD, you have open-pore wood finishes and aluminum door sill plates. And for those who enjoy soaking in the sun, there is a dual-panel panoramic moonroof to add additional value to the pickup.
The 2022 Nissan Titan XD is filled with an impressive slate of modern technological advancements, ready and usable by eager drivers looking for a full-size pickup that doesn't shy away from embracing today's tech-heavy society. With the Titan XD you have the standard inclusion of a 7.0-inch digital driver display screen that offers telematics across the entire trim lineup. Separately, an available 9.0-inch HD integrated command center touchscreen offers all the latest infotainment opportunities for tech-savvy drivers.
The Nissan infotainment suite for the Titan XD features the standard inclusion of NissanConnect, enabling drivers and passengers to easily connect their Apple or Android smartphone to the truck via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You can also make hands-free calls and text messages using the hands-free Bluetooth wireless connectivity feature with voice-activated support. Media streaming via the smart device through the truck is also a standard inclusion, along with audio displays and USB ports.
For those who want to take the infotainment capabilities to the next level, a premium 12-speaker surround-sound audio system is available from Fender for the Titan XD. Perfect for the available SiriusXM Satellite Radio feature. For those who also want to take navigation to the next level, the NissanConnect With Navigation system features SiriusXM Travel Link for easy local and national navigation services so you can easily find what you're looking for and how to get there without worrying about traffic hassles.
And with a safety suite featuring tech such as Intelligent Around View, Intelligent Cruise Control, and Intelligent Driver Alertness with traffic sign recognition, you have a number of passive and active systems to help you safely navigate to your destination. With standard inclusion of a rear sonar, blind spot warning, lane departure warnings with haptic steering feedback, cross traffic alert, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, you have every safety measure in place to ensure that traveling in the 2022 Nissan Titan XD is as safe as you'll get in a full-size truck.
