As far as crossover SUVs go, the Nissan Rogue is a leader, not a follower. Having recently been redesigned, the Rogue exudes a contemporary feel inside and out. It is a popular purchase for another reason, too; affordability. Getting behind the wheel of a new 2023 Rogue is perhaps much easier than you may think. If you’re an Illinois driver on the hunt for a Nissan Rogue for sale near Mahomet, IL, make the trip east and visit us here at Illini Nissan, conveniently located in Champaign. We offer an extensive selection of the current Nissan lineup, which includes the amazing 2023 Nissan Rogue.

Whether you’re considering the entry-level S trim level or looking at the lineup-topping Platinum, there is a trim level that can meet your needs. But just what does each trim level include? As you climb the trim level ladder, you will find even more desirable features packed in for an increased price tag. Let’s take an in-depth look at the 2023 Nissan Rogue’s five trim levels so that you can decide which one will best suit your needs before you even take one out for a test drive.

The Nissan Rogue S

The base trim in the Nissan Rogue lineup is simply called the S. The S receives its power from a standard turbocharged 1.5L 3-cylinder engine. This engine is paired with Nissan’s Xtronic CVT, which comes with Manual mode and delivers power to the front wheels, as all-wheel drive is not available on this trim level. Brake Assist helps the vehicle come to a safe stop and avoid rear-end collisions. The standard suspension consists of an independent strut front suspension and independent multi-link rear suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars. Nissan includes a fair amount of driver assistance technologies on the S, courtesy of the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite, which includes:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • High Beam Assist
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Rear Automatic Braking

These features are designed to keep you safe on the road, offering another set of eyes to look out for you no matter where your travels take you. Of course, Nissan also outfits the Rogue with an abundance of well-placed airbags, an energy-absorbing steering column, and an easy-to-use LATCH system for installing child safety seats.

The Rogue S rides on 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels fitted with all-season tires. On the front fascia, you get LED headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights and Intelligent Auto Headlights that automatically adjust brightness. LED taillights are also standard. The S comes with a rear spoiler, rear privacy glass, and UV-reducing solar glass.

Inside the cabin, you will find a plethora of creature comforts. Air conditioning is standard for the S, as are rear vents for passengers to receive airflow. You can enter the S trim with the remote keyless entry and start it up with the push button ignition. You get one 12-volt DC power outlet, USB-A port, and USB-C port for connecting your devices. Seats are upholstered in comfy cloth trim for ample head, back, and thigh support.

Nissan equips plenty of infotainment features on the S as well. An Advanced Drive-Assist Display is included, and you can view all of your entertainment features from the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Voice recognition allows you to issue commands, and you can use smartphone app integration via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to access your favorite apps. Bluetooth connectivity helps with audio streaming and making phone calls, and speed-sensitive volume control adjusts the volume of your audio in accordance with the vehicle’s speed.

The Nissan Rogue SV

The S is a solid base trim, but you may find yourself wanting more features. If that is the case, consider upgrading to the SV trim level. Mechanically, the SV is just like the S, but there are several additional features. More driver assistance technology is standard, including ProPILOT Assist, a hands-on driver-assist system that utilizes Steering Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control. Use ProPILOT Assist by simply pressing the ProPILOT Assist button, then ‘Set’ once you’ve reached your desired speed, and set the following distance. Intelligent Lane Intervention prevents the vehicle from departing its intended driving lane, and there is Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention to help prevent you from colliding with a vehicle in an adjacent lane driving in your blind spot.

The SV gets upgraded to 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels fitted with all-season tires, while the exterior gains body-colored power side mirrors with heating. More enhancements open up as well, which include:

  • Black V-Motion grille
  • Black front and rear bumper trim pieces
  • Black outside mirrors
  • Roof rails
  • Black roof rails
  • Black rear diffuser
  • Power liftgate
  • Dual Panel Panoramic Moonroof
  • Satin black rear badging

The cabin receives numerous upgrades as well. Among them are a Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control, Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, and dual sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors up front. The driver’s seat becomes power-adjustable eight ways and has two-way power lumbar support for added comfort. You can opt for PrimaTex or TailorFit leatherette instead of the standard cloth upholstery, and there are options for a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel and heating for the front seats.

The Nissan Rogue Midnight Edition

While the SV provides a lot of comforts, you may be looking for even more standard features; that’s where the Midnight Edition comes into play. The Midnight Edition comes with AWD, offering more grip and traction when you need it most. Snow and Off-Road drive modes get added to assist with providing extra traction for those specific driving conditions. 18-inch gloss-black aluminum-alloy wheels are swapped in, and a variety of black exterior features are standard. The V-Motion grille, front and rear bumper trim, exterior mirrors, roof rails, rear diffuser, and rear badging are all black.

What’s more, you get a dual-panel moonroof and a power liftgate to elevate your sense of luxury. There are some upgrades inside of the cabin, too. The SV’s optional TailorFit leatherette seats are standard issue, as are the heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats. Given that this is primarily an aesthetic package, there are no significant changes to the infotainment or safety features, but for those wanting added style, consider this the perfect model.

The Nissan Rogue SL

Stepping it up another notch is the SL trim. Like the S and SV, it has an FWD drivetrain; in fact, it is mechanically identical to those two trims. However, the SL adds more features to its list. It allows you to optionally equip the ProPILOT Assist with the Navi-link system, a front/rear/side sonar system of sensors, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

On the outside, the Rogue SL gains a few sleeker features as well, starting with the 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels fitted with all-season tires. The side mirrors are done in the chosen body color, and LED turn signal indicators are integrated into the mirrors. Roof rails are standard, and there is even an option for a motion-activated liftgate, a feature that lets you simply use your foot to open the liftgate.

Inside the cabin, there are a number of upgrades that make life behind the wheel more comfortable. You can opt for a Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control system, and rear door sunshades are also an option. Standard features added to the cabin include an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, reverse tilt-down for the side mirrors, two 12-volt DC power outlets, and the cleverly designed Divide-N-Hide cargo system (an adjustable load floor that lets you customize how you stash your cargo). The front passenger’s seat becomes power-adjustable, and the driver’s seat gains memory settings for the seat and side mirrors. The seats are also upholstered in leather.

Nissan gives the Rogue SL more options for adding infotainment features. You can equip it with the 9-inch Nissan color touchscreen display and Nissan Door to Door Navigation with Premium Traffic. There is also an option for equipping NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM, giving you a choice of 5-year Select, 5-year Plus, and 6-month Premium packages with a trial offer. Wireless Apple CarPlay is available, as are Alexa Built-In and SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, with a three-month trial subscription. Music lovers can opt for a Bose Premium Audio System that comes with its own integrated dual-driver woofer.

Nissan Rogue Platinum

At the top of the lineup sits the Platinum trim level. It borders on luxury status without the hefty price tag. It is mechanically akin to the lower trim levels (minus the Midnight Edition, since the Platinum is FWD) but standardizes all of the optional features on the SL. This means that you get the following driver aids:

  • ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link
  • The front, rear, and side sonar system
  • Traffic Sign Recognition

The motion-activated liftgate is also equipped, and rear seat sunshades are included with the Platinum and the option for heated rear seats. Upgrades to the infotainment system include:

  • 9-inch NissanConnect touchscreen display
  • Nissan Door to Door Navigation with Premium Traffic
  • An optional head-up display
  • NissanConnect Services
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay
  • SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link
  • Alexa Built-In
  • Bose Premium Audio System with a dual-driver woofer

There is a Platinum Premium Package you can tack onto the vehicle, giving you heated rear seats, a Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control system, and a head-up display.
