We’ve got great news for you if you’re looking for a Nissan Versa for sale. You’re about to read our 2024 Nissan Versa Buyer’s Guide, where we’ll discuss everything you need to know before you visit our dealership and buy your sedan. You’ll be ready to start your shopping when you’re done reading. There is a lot to love about this incredibly value-packed subcompact sedan, so let’s begin!
Trims & Pricing
You can select between four trims when shopping for the 2024 Nissan Versa. Between the base and top trims, the price difference is only slightly more than $4,000, which is significantly less than the price difference between base and top models if you look elsewhere on the market. But the Versa is special in more ways than one––the 2024 Versa holds the crown as the most affordable brand-new car out of any lineup from any manufacturer.
S (Manual)
With an MSRP of $16,680 for the S trim, the Versa is the perfect car for anybody looking to buy their first new vehicle.[a] Those who prefer driving something fresh every few years for an affordable price should also consider the Versa. The 2024 Versa S is an efficient vehicle with an astounding amount of standard features.
Some standard amenities in the 2024 Versa S include the driver assist features that come as part of Nissan Safety Shield 360––Nissan’s patented safety suite––and an infotainment center that includes a beautiful seven-inch touchscreen. You wouldn’t expect tech like this installed within the lowest-priced vehicle on the market, yet here it is. It’s worth noting, however, that the base Versa S comes with a five-speed manual transmission linked with its 1.6L I-4 engine. But if you can’t drive a manual, there is an alternative.
S (CVT)
The Versa S is offered in two flavors, with the second version providing an Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) instead of the five-speed manual. Upgrading to the Versa S with the CVT increases the MSRP to $18,350.[a]
Much of the technological underpinnings between the S trims are the same, barring a couple of exceptions. Firstly, remote keyless entry comes standard with the CVT version. This is a key fob system that intelligently links with your vehicle and allows you to unlock your doors, including the trunk, without turning a key. Another difference between the Versa S with the CVT and the Versa S with the manual transmission is the former allows for optional Apple CarPlay and Android Auto if you buy the S+ Package.

SV
The SV is the first trim to follow the two S options. With an MSRP of $19,970, the Versa SV marks a steady price jump over the base S––especially the more cost-effective variant with the five-speed manual transmission.[a] The SV, costing over $3,000 more than the base S, means you’re looking at various improvements, like more luxurious features and materials. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the upgrades it offers.
For starters, with the 2024 Versa SV, your sedan is fitted with 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels. Many may find the 16-inch wheels easier on the eyes than the 15-inch steel wheels that come with the S, although those are more than adequate, given the low starting price of the base trim. The SV also comes with premium cloth seats, which are a step up from the traditional cloth material used on the seats in both Versa S trims.
One of the biggest additions to the SV is its tech features. In addition to everything we’ve mentioned so far, the infotainment center in the Versa SV gets an enormous boost in productivity, versatility, and connectivity thanks to the added standard functionality of what everyone is looking for in a brand-new vehicle: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
While both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available for the Versa S with the CVT, it’s still worth celebrating their standard inclusions in the Versa SV, as it helps illustrate how great of a value the Versa is, even if the trim you’re buying is closer to––but still not over––the $20,000 mark. Not to mention, the SV includes a wireless charging pad for your phone, which is something everyone likely wants.
SR
The Versa SR is the top trim, and it starts at an MSRP of $20,690, making it the first and only 2024 Versa trim to scrape past the $20,000 mark.[a] However, the money is well spent with the SR because it’s the way to go if you want the complete Versa experience as Nissan envisions it. Many features that make the SR a notable standout come standard with the trim and don’t require further customization. For example, the front seats––which include Sport Cloth trim––are heated in the SR, and automatic temperature control means the cabin never feels too cool or hot.
Like the SV, the SR again increases the wheel size, providing standard 17-inch wheels made of aluminum alloy. Unlike the SV, the aluminum alloy material is machine-finished, giving it an even finer sheen. While you’re outside admiring your wheels, why not turn on your car with the keyfob’s added remote engine start functionality?
There are many other advantages the SR has over the preceding trims. The seven-inch infotainment center we spoke of earlier is replaced with an eight-inch infotainment center, and it has added features like SiriusXM, Nissan Door to Door Navigation, NissanConnect Services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, along with a six-speaker audio system for good measure. The upgraded system also means the SR is the only trim where the infotainment center can receive over-the-air updates, meaning applications and security updates will be installed overnight while the car is off.

Efficiency
We mentioned that the 2024 Nissan Versa has a 1.6L I-4 engine linked with one of two transmission types, so how is its fuel efficiency? The 2024 Versa can be described as fuel-efficient, regardless of which transmission type you opt for, but the CVT model is ultimately the more fuel-efficient. The 2024 Versa has a 10.8-gallon fuel capacity, and in models fitted with the manual transmission, the Versa can travel an estimated 324 miles on a full tank of gas, with EPA-estimated ratings of 27 MPG in the city, 35 MPG on the highway, and 30 MPG combined.
With the Xtronic CVT, the sedan can travel an estimated 378 miles on a full tank of gas, which is 17% further than the Versa S with the manual transmission. If you buy the CVT Versa S, your sedan gets EPA-estimated ratings of 32 MPG in the city, 40 MPG on the highway, and 35 MPG combined. Between the Versa being the most affordable vehicle on the market and being such an efficient sedan, it’s no wonder why the Versa represents such terrific value.
